Dotted and traceable fonts for worksheets
You can turn text into traceable letters in the browser or build a document with an installed tracing font. Start with the format you actually need.

Make dotted names without installing a font
In TraceTheName, type a name and select dotted letters. The tool draws a dotted outline around the print letter shape. The traceable text maker does the same for editable words and sentences, with writing guidelines and PDF export.
Dotted, dashed, hollow, and shadow-style models
A dotted model leaves small marks around the form; a dashed model uses longer segments. A hollow or outline model leaves the interior white. A pale shadow-style model gives a filled example to follow. These describe the visual prompt, rather than a particular handwriting curriculum. Check how much contrast the printed model has before using it.
Bubble letters and boxed letter practice
Bubble letters are wide display forms, often chosen for coloring or lettering activities. They can look different from a classroom handwriting model. Boxed letter practice adds a boundary around an individual letter. Choose these formats for the activity you want, and compare the printed forms before treating them as a writing lesson.
What is KG Primary Dots?
KG Primary Dots is part of Kimberly Geswein’s KG Primary font family, alongside lined and other penmanship styles. It is a separate typeface; this site does not bundle or distribute it. Check the designer’s current download and license information if you want to use that exact font in your own files.
Making dotted letters in Word or Docs
A desktop font workflow starts with choosing a font you are allowed to use, installing it in the supported environment, and applying it to your text. In a document, add blank rows and page margins, then export and inspect a PDF. Microsoft documents installation for Word on Windows. Online editors have their own font menus; installing a desktop font does not by itself make it available in every web editor.
A tracing font is not a stroke-order guide
A font supplies letter shapes. Directional arrows and numbered strokes are a different kind of instruction. TraceTheName’s print outlines and Dancing Script cursive models do not specify an order of strokes. Use the learner’s approved handwriting model when that order is part of the lesson.
