What is in the Valentine’s pack
The complete pack has five pages. Three picture pages show six hearts, six envelopes, or six flowers, each a clean outline ready to trace and color. A fourth page has curved paths, which follow the same round motion as the top of a heart. The last page prints four words with a dotted model and a copy line: love, heart, card, and kind. The pictures are original drawings made for this site, with no stock art. If you only need a heart, choose it from the menu and print a single page.
A heart is a harder shape than it looks
Children usually master a circle before a heart. A heart has two rounded lobes, a dip in the middle, and a point at the bottom, so the pencil must turn sharply in two places. Encourage a slow trace and talk through the shape: up and over, dip down, up and over, then down to the point. If your child finds it hard, practice the simpler heart tracing worksheet first, which has only the shape. The envelope is made of straight lines and a flap, and the flower repeats a small petal shape, so each one trains a different movement.
Kind words and card writing
Valentine’s Day gives young writers a real reason to write. A child can trace love or kind and copy the word onto a card for a friend, a grandparent, or a teacher. Classroom cards often just need a name and a short message. Trace the name on a first sheet, using the name tracing generator, then use the word page for the message. If your class exchanges cards, avoid requiring anything that leaves a child out, and encourage kind messages for every classmate.
Activities to pair with the pages
- Make a card. Trace and color a heart, cut it out, and glue it to folded paper.
- Count and sort. Color hearts in two colors and count how many of each.
- Mail game. Pretend the envelopes are letters, write a name on each, and “deliver” them.
- Patterns. Color the six flowers in an ABABAB pattern.
- Kindness chain. Ask for one kind word per heart, then tape the hearts into a garland.
Printing tips
Choose US Letter or A4, and use ink-saving gray if you will hand-color every page. A pink or red crayon is a better fit for the outlines than a marker, which can show through the paper. The outlines are dotted so the pencil line stays visible after tracing. Print the pack a few days before the holiday so children have time to trace, color, and finish a card.
