Capital B in cursive
Capital B has a tall slanted stem and two rounded sections on its right. The lower section sweeps under the stem and finishes in a small loop at the bottom left.
Lowercase b in cursive
Lowercase b starts with a tall loop above the midline, comes down to the baseline, and closes a small round body. It finishes with a short tie at the midline instead of at the baseline.
Joining b to other letters
Lowercase b finishes with a tie at the midline, so the letter after it starts high. Trace baby to see that join, then try the word on the blank copy line.
Because b ends high, the next letter starts from the midline. In baby, the a and the y both start from the high tie of the b before them. Print b has no loop and no tie, so it is a good letter to compare side by side.
